Kelly Curl is a mixed media artist in Lansing, Michigan. Her work focuses on sustainability and breathing life into discarded materials.
In 2024, she began making fine art that is composed of 75-90% recycled and repurposed material. From deteriorating books and discarded paper, she makes recycled-paper clay. With the clay, she sculpts surreal landscapes and zones of meditation. Plastic waste and repurposed items are then thoughtfully arranged and embedded into the clay, making intricately jeweled one-of-a-kind pieces.
